The amount of times the groom has told me they spent the day before the wedding buying their wedding shoes is getting out of hand. Boys, this is unacceptable!
Your wife to be has probably spent months deliberating over what shoes to wear and how she can look her best on the wedding day, and you need to at the very least APPEAR to have done the same. Just think of the extra brownie points you will get for actually taking an interest in your own wedding.
However, I say appear because I have done the hard work for you. You need look no more for your wedding day shoes. Don’t spend hours wandering around your local shopping centre, just buy yourself a pair of beautiful and comfortable I might add, Loake shoes.
These are the shoes for my summer season of weddings in 2018. I’m not a big fan of going to the shops so I normally buy another brand of shoes, but Mark the manager from LOAKE in Canterbury was so helpful when I stumbled across his shop I just had to purchase a pair. I love the classic brogue styling, the tan leather and the cherry on the cake is the blue laces, just a little touch, but a perfect one. One which would go well with a nicely styled blue wedding suit, which are very popular at the moment.
Being a documentary wedding photographer I spend the full extent of a wedding day on my feet, I don’t get the chance to put my feet up after the portraits and sit around waiting for the first dance to start, I work for every minute I am employed to make sure I photograph the very best of a wedding day. So, of course I need comfortable shoes. However, I am a little ‘style over substance’ I must confess when it comes to clothes, but these shoes help me be smartly dressed for a wedding day and don’t give me blisters at the same time.
As a side note here’s a tip for you, when you are looking for a wedding photographer ask them what they wear on a wedding day, you would be surprised at some of the answers I am willing to bet. I like to think that just because I am doing a physical job, doesn’t mean I should turn up in trainers and comfy clothes. I come dressed for a wedding and blend in perfectly with the crowd, more often than not guests assume I am a friend, the perfect compliment for a documentary wedding photographer. I even got complimented once on how smart I was, and off the back off that conversation I booked their wedding in Italy, which you can see a sneak peak of RIGHT HERE.
So, to sum up. Simply, these are great wedding shoes for a groom, that will add a touch of class to their ensemble and keep their feet in a blister free state all day long.
If you appreciate the merits of my smartly dressed approach to photographing a wedding, or if you are going to change your photographer now you know they are turning up in trainers, then please GIVE ME A SHOUT.
