Rachel and Adam
During engagement sessions I think it is really important to get to know the couple. My photography is not all about me directing people, in fact far from it. I like to think of the sessions as a collaboration, so the more we chat about random stuff the better. It also helps everyone relax, including me. I knew talking wasn’t going to be a problem with Rachel and Adam because on their first date they chatted for six hours apparently. That must be a world record for a guy to be able to talk for that long!
During the shoot Adam asked me where I lived, Throwley I replied which is in the middle of nowhere, I then made a throw away remark about the pub closing in 1995, and how that was probably before they were even born as a joke. I thought on this remark a little more and asked them what year they were actually born…1994 said Adam! Do you know how soul destroying that is for someone born in 1980 and still thinks they are 24?!? It’s ok Adam, I forgive you for making me feel like an old man.
Now this countryside engagement shoot came in many parts as you will see from the images below, I started off with some initmate moments, the kind of photographs they can treasure forever, then moved on to a game devised by Mrs H which worked brilliantly and was a lot of fun…Adam is also in for some stick from his mates for some of his answers. Lastly, was the water fight, with balloons and guns. It was a great morning and Rachel learnt a very valuable lesson…wear waterproof mascara when taking part in a water fight.
If you are interested in water fight photography, wedding photography or some intimate couples photography please do get in touch and don’t forget to like, share and comment.
I sold tickets for the engagement shoot to local residents
